Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 October 2026

This notice explains what personal data AjmerAstro collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). We only process your data with your consent and for the purposes described here.

1. Who we are

AjmerAstro is an AI-powered Vedic astrology platform operated by Kusha AI (OPC) Private Limited (CIN U96906RJ2026OPC117216), a company registered in India and the "Data Fiduciary" for your personal data. Registered office: 1/28 Housing Board Colony, Vikas Marg, Panchsheel Nagar, Ajmer, Rajasthan 305001, India. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact our Grievance Officer at grievance@ajmerastro.com, our support team at info@ajmerastro.com, or call +91 97415 99151.

2. Data we collect

We collect the information you give us and some technical information about how you use the site:

  • Account details: your name, email address and phone number.
  • Birth details: date, time and place of birth, and gender, for yourself and for any family members you add (which may include children). This is needed to generate your kundali and readings.
  • Charts and content you create: saved charts, AI chat conversations, saved readings and memory, mood check-ins and bookmarks.
  • Usage information: pages and tools you use, device and browser information, analytics events, and the approximate location of a visit while you are signed in (country, state and city, worked out by our host from your connection; we do not store your IP address for this). All of this only if you allow analytics cookies. If you later withdraw that consent, we delete the stored location.
  • Contact and enquiry information: anything you send us through contact forms, plus how you found us (campaign source).
  • Payment references: when you pay, we store only the order and payment reference from Razorpay. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details.
  • Nominee details, if you name one: the nominee's name, your relationship to them, and the contact details you give us. We store these only to identify and reach that person if they later claim your rights under section 8. Please tell the person you have nominated them, since we do not contact them for you.

3. Why we use it, and our legal basis

  • To generate kundali charts, horoscopes, dasha and compatibility analysis from your birth details.
  • To provide personalized AI readings and remember context you choose to save.
  • To create and secure your account, and to provide customer support.
  • To process payments and deliver what you buy.
  • To send you service messages, and (only if you opt in) horoscope and marketing emails.
  • To understand and improve the product (only with your analytics consent).
  • Our legal basis for all of the above is your consent, which you give at signup and through the cookie banner, and which you can withdraw at any time (see section 8).

4. Cookies and tracking

Essential cookies keep the site working and are always on. Analytics and advertising cookies load only after you allow them. You can review each category and change your choices any time in our Cookie Policy.

5. Who we share your data with

Your account, birth details and app data are stored in India (Mumbai). We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers below, under contract, and only as needed to run AjmerAstro. Some analytics and AI providers process data outside India (in the United States or European Union):

Where a provider is outside India, we rely on the contractual and security safeguards it offers.

6. AI processing

To generate your readings, facts derived from your birth chart, and the questions you ask, are sent to our AI partners (Anthropic and OpenAI) in the United States. Under our agreements with them, this content is not used to train their models. You can avoid AI features by not using the AI chat and by keeping AI memory turned off in your account settings.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep your personal data while your account is active, and we automatically delete older data once its purpose is served: AI chat conversations are deleted 24 months after your last message in them (6 months for conversations held without an account); support chat conversations after 12 months (6 months without an account); raw usage analytics after 14 months and their daily summaries after 25 months; and contact or enquiry records after 24 months of inactivity. When you delete your account there is a 30-day grace period during which you can restore it; after that your personal data is erased. We keep an anonymized summary of purchases (with no personal details) for legal and accounting reasons, and payment and billing records for as long as tax law requires.

8. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you have the following rights. To exercise any of them, email our Grievance Officer at grievance@ajmerastro.com (we respond within 30 days), or use the self-serve options noted below:

Access and a copy of your data (portability)

Download a copy of your data anytime from your account settings (Account > Download my data). You can also email grievance@ajmerastro.com and we will provide a copy within 30 days.

Correction of your data

Edit your name and birth details any time in your dashboard account settings, or email us.

Erasure (deletion)

Delete your account from your account settings (a 30-day grace period applies), or email us.

Nomination

Name a nominee in your account settings (Account > Nomination) who may exercise your rights if you die or become unable to act for yourself. You can change or remove your nominee at any time, or email grievance@ajmerastro.com instead. Your nominee is not told automatically and gets no access to your account: when the time comes they contact our Grievance Officer, who verifies their identity and the relevant documents before acting.

Withdraw consent any time: use the button above for analytics and advertising cookies; turn off AI memory, daily check-in or monthly email in your account settings; or use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already done.

If we do not resolve your grievance, you have the right to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

9. Children

AjmerAstro accounts are for adults: when you sign up you must confirm you are 18 or older. When you add a family member whose date of birth shows they are under 18, we require you to confirm, before saving, that you are that child's parent or legal guardian and that you consent to processing their birth details. We record this consent (what was agreed, when, and for which family member). Child profiles have no separate login, cookies or advertising identity, so we do not track, behaviourally monitor, or target advertising at children. Our current method is a recorded guardian confirmation; we will adopt stronger verification (such as government-backed or DigiLocker-based identity checks) as prescribed under the DPDP Rules.

10. How we protect your data

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use Supabase Row Level Security so your records are accessible only to you, scrub personal data from error reports, hash sensitive tokens, and restrict internal access. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the Data Protection Board of a breach as required by law.

11. International transfers

Your account and birth data are stored in India (Mumbai). Some of the service providers in section 5 (mainly analytics and our AI partners) process data outside India (United States or European Union). We share the minimum needed and rely on the safeguards in our agreements with them.

12. Changes to this policy

This is a living document; we update it as our practices and features evolve. The date at the top shows the latest version. If we materially change how we use your data, we will ask for your consent again.

14. Using AjmerAstro through an AI assistant

We publish a connector that lets an AI assistant (such as ChatGPT or Claude) compute charts using our calculation engine. This section explains what that means for your data, because the arrangement is different from everything above.

  • The assistant sees your details before we do. When you type your birth date, time and place into an assistant, its operator receives them at that moment — because you are using their product. That happens whether or not our connector is involved, and it is governed by that company's privacy policy, not this one. They are not acting as our service provider here, and we have no control over what they keep.
  • What reaches us. Only the date, time and place the assistant sends us. We do not ask for your name, we do not create an account, and we do not store anything from these requests — no chart, no copy of your details, no record linking them to you. The place name is looked up for coordinates and the details are passed to our calculation engine, both already listed in the table above.
  • What we cannot do for you. Because we never hold this data, we cannot delete, correct or export your assistant conversation. Our Grievance Officer has no access to it. To remove it, use the privacy or data controls inside that assistant.
  • The link back to our site. Each answer carries a link that opens the same chart on ajmerastro.com with the date, time and place already filled in. Those details travel in the part of the address after the # symbol, which browsers never send to a server — so they do not reach our request logs, our analytics or our error reports, and the form removes them from the address bar once it has read them. If you then use the site itself, the rest of this policy applies as normal.
  • Our advice. Treat an AI assistant as a third place your birth details will live. If you would rather they stayed only with us, use the AjmerAstro website or app directly instead of an assistant.

15. The AjmerAstro Android app

This policy also applies to the AjmerAstro app for Android. The app signs you in to the same account as the website and stores your data in the same place, with the same service providers listed in section 5. This section explains what the app collects, where it sends it, and what it keeps on your phone.

  • Account and birth details. To create an account in the app you give your name, your email address and a password, and a phone number if you want to. When you add your date, time and place of birth and gender, or add a family member with the same details and their relationship to you, the app saves them to your account. A chart is saved only when you choose to save it. You see the same profiles and saved charts in the app and on the website.
  • Calculating charts. To calculate a kundali, a KP chart, a matching report or the daily panchang, the app sends only what that calculation needs (the name, date, time and place of birth you entered, or today's date and a place for the panchang). These details travel over an encrypted connection to our website server, which passes them to our calculation engine (the astro engines in section 5). This works only while you are signed in. The daily horoscope and several simple calculators run on your phone, so no birth details leave it for those.
  • Place search. When you type a place of birth, the app sends the text you type directly from your phone to Open-Meteo (see section 5), which returns matching towns with their coordinates and time zone. Open-Meteo receives that text and, as with any internet request, your IP address. It does not receive your name, your account or your date of birth.
  • Device record. While you are signed in, the app saves a record of your device to your account: its brand and model, the Android version, the app version and build number, whether it is a real phone or an emulator, when the app was last active, and a random ID that the app creates the first time it is opened. This is not the advertising ID and it does not identify the phone's hardware. The record tells us which devices and app versions our users have, so we can support them and fix problems on particular devices. It is saved whether or not you allow analytics.
  • Crash and error reports. When the app crashes or hits an error, it sends a report to Sentry (see section 5) so we can find and fix the fault. These reports are sent whether or not you allow analytics. A report holds technical details: the error, the device model, the Android and app versions, a random ID for the app installation, and the steps the app took just before the error. We do not attach your name, email address or birth details, and before anything is sent we strip sign-in tokens, cookies, app log messages and the query part of web addresses. For a small share of sessions the app also sends timing data: how long each request took and its web address, again without the query part, which is the part that could hold your account ID or a place you searched for.
  • Usage analytics, only if you allow it. The app asks you once whether it may collect usage data, and you can change your answer at any time under Settings, then Privacy. Until you allow it, the app sends nothing to PostHog (see section 5). If you allow it, the app sends events about how you use it, such as which tools you open and which features you tap. With them go the device model, the Android and app versions, the random ID described above and, when you are signed in, your account ID. Before an event leaves your phone, the app removes names, birth details, places, email addresses, phone numbers and free text. The app does not record your screen and does not capture your taps automatically.
  • What the app does not collect. The app does not ask for location permission and does not read your phone's location. A birth place is something you type. It does not access your contacts, photos, files, camera or microphone. It does not use your advertising ID and it shows no advertisements. Nothing is sold inside the app at present, so the app does not handle payment details.
  • What stays on your phone. Your sign-in session and the random ID described above are kept in Android's encrypted secure storage. Your settings (theme, text size, language, default place and your analytics choice) and a copy of the day's panchang are kept in the app's private storage. The app is excluded from Android's cloud backup. Uninstalling the app removes all of this from your phone. It does not delete your account or anything saved to it.
  • Messages to us on WhatsApp. Some result screens have a button that opens WhatsApp with a short message already written, for example your ascendant and Moon sign, or the two names and the score from a matching report. Nothing is sent unless you send that message yourself, and WhatsApp's own privacy policy applies to it.
  • AI features. Where the app offers AI chat or AI readings, section 6 applies to them in the same way as on the website.
  • Age. Like the website, the app is for adults aged 18 or over and is not directed at children (see section 9). Kundali matching is refused when either person is under 18.

Deleting your account and data. In the app, open Profile and tap Delete account. We email a confirmation link to the address on your account, and once you confirm on the page it opens, the 30-day grace period described in section 7 begins. You can also delete your account from the website, or by email if you cannot sign in. It is one account, so deleting it removes your data from the app and the website together. The steps, and what is erased and what is kept, are on our Delete your account page.
